For Qusas Min Wara Al Jidar, Aya was initially going to create a piece based on the interviews which accompany the images in La La Lil Jidar. After October 7th, Aya felt it important to respond to the current moment in her work. This piece now consists of interviews with Palestinians living in and around Philly, and is a digestion of how the genocide echoes in our bodies.

About Aya Razzaz

Aya Razzaz is a Palestinian performance artist and dancer based in Philadelphia. As a diasporic Palestinian Aya believes there is no lack of stories embedded in her body and she has always used the stage as a method of sharing them. Aya has performed around the country as a dancer, director and burlesque artist. There are multiple teachers and programs to whom she owes her passion for the stage including Headlong Performance Institute and the Philadelphia Burlesque Academy. Performing is a way for Aya to both escape and be increasingly present in the world around her, she hopes you experience this too.
