You Can Break Up Our Prayer, But This Wall Can’t Break Our Faith

Tawfik Al Amla is a Qadi (Islamic judge). He led prayers during unarmed demonstrations against the Wall as a form of resistance (seen in another photo). During one prayer he attempted to talk with the army, explaining the importance of this spiritual act on the land of his people. Israeli army members responded with violence towards him and all the demonstrators praying.
